About 164 Court Lane
A newly created garden, 164 Court Lane is the vision of James and Katie Dawes and their close friend, garden designer Mel Debenham. The garden was redeveloped in Spring 2018 with the main ambition being to shape a much more personal and intimate space by creating a journey through the grounds with a meaningful role for each area. To have entertaining, family and allotment space were all central to crafting a more practical yet charming garden.
The result is an enchanting space that comprises several different zones for relaxing, eating, playing and growing fruit and vegetables. A large terrace for entertaining leads onto a swinging seat designed to catch the setting sun levelled lawn with colourful, abundant borders. Steps then lead to a beautiful, mature oak under which decking provides a perfect space for a swing and relaxation area. A rose arch and cottage garden guide you through to the raised vegetable beds, fruit trees and chicken coop and the garden culminates in a state of the art greenhouse and a warming fire pit.
The garden at number 164 is work in progress as we learn which plants flourish and which do not. The garden has yet to fully mature but what has been created in 2018 is a much loved, family space that seduces you through to the end.
