About Gaunts Hill

A large country garden steeped in history, enclosed within the historic wall of a kitchen garden, built for the 10th Duke of St. Albans in C19th. The garden is surrounded by mature woodland. There is a mulberry tree planted by royalty and an original Victorian circular pond with French fountain and gazebos. Greenhouse, vegetable plot and lawns surrounded by herbaceous borders. The garden is home to livestock including a peacock, chickens, and doves. Garden designed by member of The Society of Garden Designers. Refreshments and parking in adjacent field.

Take Bestwood Lodge Dr up to the Bestwood Lodge Hotel, then turn R & continue until you see a sign saying vehicle access to stables only. Then turn R down the drive through the gates.
