Journey's End

Our 2 acre wildlife garden gives us such joy seeing the constant activity and the huge variety of wildlife active on the native grasses, the many wild flowers, shrubs, herbaceous plants, pond etc that provide a food source. Also the brash piles, the wildlife homes we have erected so all creatures have a home here at Journey's End, our self build award winning home.

About Journey's End

Check out our website www.brsimages.co.uk for an extra incentive to come to our award winning cedar & glass Eco friendly self build home with 2 acre wildlife garden plus stunning views to enjoy at your leisure. whilst walking through the beautiful grasses with paths cut through, in this area you will see a Menhir where we feed foxes & hedgehogs. Further down we have a glorious sculpture of an owl made out of a copper cylinder. Some interesting trees, shrubs & flowers can be seen as well

You will see a deer leap, a large spring fed pond full of Newts, Frogs, Dragonflies, fresh water snails, Swallows splash bathing & collecting clay from the small island Bri built so they can build & repairs their nests in our garage; over 30 bird (of every variety) hedgehog, owl & bat boxes are erected all around our home & garden.

Our compost heap & the grasses are a wonderful home for the many small mammals we have in the garden, from field voles to common shrews, wood mice & hedgehogs
I love the moles we occasionally get, the earth they send up is so well sifted it is fabulous added to potting compost!

We have 3 herbaceous borders, 2 raised beds, one full of herbs, the other is cut flowers & strawberries

We have had a licensed bird ringer come early one morning to ring & monitor our birdlife. He recorded an abundance of species including seeing Crossbills flying over & hearing the very rare Lesser Spotted Woodpecker (I never did find it 1)
In June a Devon moth recorder found 48 different species including our largest moth the Privet hawk moth, our grasses & sting nettle patches helping these great pollinators
We have cameras out in discreet places in the garden, which regularly pick up our nocturnal wildlife

We have 6 seating areas to retire too with your tea & cake or indoors if you prefer.
Do come inside to view our fine art pictures (guaranteed not to fade) of wildlife photography in every room we have taken from around the world, Bri then prints & frames all our work, cards & pictures for sale.
