About Mowhay

This was an undeveloped garden with orchard which has been lovingly built over 3 years. Its still not finished, there’s more to come! It is designed to maintain the wonderful countryside views and embraces the environment it sits in – so there are brambles, nettles and hedgerows! However the formal garden is exuberantly planted with usual and not so usual plants. There are Rose arches aplenty. Mounds giving differing height levels to the orchard have been constructed and Willow Fedging is slowly becoming a feature. We are keen upcyclers so the greenhouse is made from our old house windows, the garden room uses the neighbours old doors, and there are various quirky structures from the auction house or junk yard! There is a Mindful Path featuring Bonsai to a meditation platform and for those sure footed, a short stretch of the Old Post Office lane can be explored. Come and say hello to the chickens, listen to the swallows and buzzards overhead, and relax on a chair overlooking the Taw valley with a large slice of homemade cake.
