About Rosi's Taverna
A unique taverna has been made on the old greenhouse site, over a handcrafted mosaic ‘Rosi’s Taverna’ with a covering of grapevines, kiwi, blackberry, jasmine and clematis. Homemade bottle walls, solar lights and holiday memorabilia adorn the wrought iron gates and come alive when the sun shines through. The taverna covering is most welcome on hot days and has a variety of seating within. Olive trees complete the Greek feel.
A mature tree peony is the star of the garden in May and Cryptomeria Sekkan Sugi has year round interest. Sophora Little Baby and Garrya Elliptica add architectural interest. A mature double U cordon apple tree, cordon pear, peach, apricot and plum trees bring delicious fruits to the garden. Soft fruits of raspberries, blackberries, loganberries, gooseberries and alpine strawberries mean it’s a pleasure to wander round, picking fruit as you go.
Various cacti and succulents burst into flower over the Summer months, with new plantlets and cuttings always on the go.
Many herbs grow around the garden and most meals need a trip outside to select an appropriate culinary addition!
