Snowdrop opening in February. Hidden away in a wonderful position Slade garden is an unexpected jewel to discover next right next to the sea with views overlooking the Bristol Channel. The garden tumbles down a secluded valley from the house at the top, protected by a long belt of woodland.

In front of the house and nearby cottages are delightful formal areas with a rose and clematis pergola and herbaceous borders in front of stone walls. From terraced lawns great sweeps of grass stretch down the hill, at this time of year enlivened by snowdrops spring bulbs, fritillaries and other early flowering plants. You should ensure your visit takes in gorgeous Southerndown beach. Heritage Coast Wardens will give guided tours of adjacent Dunraven Gardens with slide shows every hour from 2.00pm (April opening only).
