About The Old Rectory, Albury
The Old Rectory lies beside the parish church of St. Helen, Albury with Tiddington and is dated 1820-1830. The garden is 5 acres of extensive herbaceous borders , rose avenue, woodland and lake walk , kitchen and cutting gardens. It is surrounded by orchards and the glebe land with some beautiful mature trees with close access to Fernhill Wood, famous for its bluebells. There is a picturesque stable yard and outbuildings and the property lies in a small, quiet hamlet.
The garden has been developed by the present owners over 30 years and has sculptures by Andy Goldsworthy and Tom Stogdon. There is extensive planting of snowdrops and early bulbs, followed by perpetual roses, and continual herbaceous and annual planting.
