About The Old Vicarage

A 1.7 and 1.1 acre country garden. The 1.1 acre part is slowly developing. The 1.7 acres has year round interest. The 1.1 acre has been planted with some unusual trees and has a dead hedge. Early bulbs including 100’s of snow drops, aconites, iris reticulata, hellebores with many early flowering shrubs, trees and climbers. In March narcissi are added to the mix. In April 1000s of tulips, fritillarias and camassias are flowering with a number of flowering trees and shrubs. Later in the year the bog gardens are flowering with roses, alliums and clematis. Then in August dahlias, grasses and other late flowering perennials come into their own, along with cyclamen and autumn crocus. It’s lovely sitting on the decking overlooking the pond at the end of the stream with the wonderful views reflected in the swimming pond. The tree platform allows views of Duncliffe woods and the Blackmore Vale. Children can pond dip, play on the swing or play with other garden games and on the playground in the field with parental responsibility.

Grotto, old Victorian man pushing his lawn mower which his owner purchased brand new in 1866. Pond dipping, swing and other children's attractions. Cakes inc gluten free, and vegans are also catered for.
