About Deene Park
Deene Park has been home to the Brudenell family since 1514 and was once the seat of the 7th Earl of Cardigan who led the Charge of the Light Brigade in 1854. The largely Tudor house with important Georgian additions is surrounded by historic gardens set in beautiful parkland with views of the surrounding countryside. At present Deene Park is the home of Robert Brudenell, his wife Charlotte and their son William. The gardens include a David Hicks parterre with topiary teapots, long mixed borders, ‘four seasons’ garden with a spectacular planted font and circular hornbeam hedge, stone summerhouse, lakes and wild gardens.
In winter visitors can enjoy acres of snowdrops, winter flowering shrubs, hellebores and topiary. The seasons progress through drifts of daffodils, hyacinths and wild tulips; with roses, philadelphus, and summer annuals carrying through to the bold autumnal colour of the trees and shrubs.
