About Horatio's Garden
Visitors can expect intriguing, vibrant planting to stimulate all the senses. The garden is fully accessible allowing everyone to appreciate the sights and sounds of nature that thrive here. Raised beds and pot displays are updated regularly, the borders offer year-round interest, whilst the Griffin Glasshouse is a real sight to behold. The serpentine rill fills the garden with the tranquil sound of running water alongside a gently curving woodland pathway lined with river birches. The gorgeous garden room is a welcoming home away from home where everyone can enjoy the garden whatever the weather. A stunning magnolia tree planted in memory of Dame Agnes Hunt, who founded the hospital, forms the centrepiece to a wheelchair skills and play area – one of many unexpected treats just waiting to be discovered.
