About Milford House Farm

This country garden has a lawn with autumn ‘hot’ borders, cooler summer borders and a white/ green area. The shady drive has native aquilegia, foliage plants and hardy geraniums, bamboos and spring planting of bulbs and hellebores.
The walled garden was built in 2005/6 and developed gradually to include fishpond and bathtub water feature with lilies. Planting includes a vine, fig , magnolia grandiflora, roses , sweet-peas, dahlias and wisteria. An area of potted tender perennials and annuals, succulents, cacti and a banana enjoying the shelter and protection of the walls.
The orchard has apple, pear, quince, mulberry, medlar and plum trees, alongside native and ornamental trees. It includes a large wildlife pond planted with ornamental and native wetland and water plants, including lilies and irises.
The orchard has a long, firm, pathway extending for its length. This is suitable for some wheelchair access.

Wildlife pond with toads and newts. Gardened on organic lines to increase biodiversity and attract wildlife. Picnics in orchard. Visits by arrangement can inc woodland walks (weather dependent) Children's activities.
