About Lamport Hall
“It is open to question whether any other garden the world over contains features of such peculiar interest”
This wonderful comment about the gardens at Lamport Hall in 1900 remains as true as ever. The gardens are the result of 450 years’ love and dedication. Visitors can spot features from each century, from the Elizabethan lawns created around the Hall in the 1560s to a sensational new 2 acre Walled Cutting Garden full of tall perennial plants, inspired by leading designer Piet Oudolf.
Covering over 10 acres of landscaped grounds, the gardens include extensive herbaceous borders and an extraordinary line of 72 Yew trees. A highlight is the famous Lamport Rockery, among the earliest alpine garden in England and home to the world’s oldest gnome.
Light refreshments in The Stable Café include hot drinks, soft drinks, home-made cakes and light lunches
