Oasis Community Gardens

Oasis Gardens is a community project transformed from abandoned field to an award winning garden. Managed by volunteers the gardens boast over 30 project areas, several garden enterprises and hosts many community events. Take a look in the Cactus Kingdom, the Liquorice Garden, Pre-school play village, Wildlife Wonderland and the wonderful variety of trees, plants, seasonal flowers and shrubs.

About Oasis Community Gardens

The OASIS Gardens is a community project which has seen an abandoned recreation field of long grass turned into an award winning garden. Managed by volunteers the gardens boast over 30 garden project areas including a geodesic dome greenhouse, play park, children’s pre school play village and flowers, plants, trees, vegetables, fruit and cacti gardens.
The gardens comprise over 30 areas – raised beds, Topiary tales, Liquorice garden project, Orchard, Rainbow Rockery, Wildlife Wonderland, Polytunnels, Flowers for life circle, cactus Kingdom, Gazebo, Rainbow eggs chicken coups, Flower beds, Spring bulbs, Iris bed, Herb bed, Hanging baskets, Planters, Café area, Gala/sports area, Wildflower area, Willow Whale and more. The Centre and Gardens are open 365 days a year with over 30 projects and regular ‘OASIS Four Seasons Celebration events. The OASIS runs therapeutic gardening workshops and gardening courses, corporate away days, volunteer gardening days, parties and much more. The Gardens are home to a number of micro enterprises selling plants, cacti, mini gardens, bedding plants, house plants, cut flowers, seeds, garden art and home made cakes, jams, chutneys and preserves.

The Oasis Gardens hosts the first Liquorice Garden in Worksop for 100 years. The site hosts the 'Flowers for Life' project which is a therapeutic gardening project growing and selling cut flowers and floristry.

From Kilton Hill (leading to the Worksop hospital), take 1st exit to R (up hill) onto Kilton Cres, then 1st exit on R Longfellow Dr. Car Park off Dickens Rd (1st R).

Visit by Arrangement

This garden opens for By Arrangement visits from March to 1 October for groups of up to 30.

Please contact the garden owner to discuss your requirements and arrange a date for a group or bespoke visit.
