About Renishaw Hall & Gardens

Renishaw Hall in North East Derbyshire is rightly celebrated for its fabulous award-winning Italianate gardens. The Hall and Gardens have been home to the Sitwell family for over 400 years. Its present owner, Alexandra, welcomes you to visit her home, gardens, museum and vineyard. The formal garden was laid out in 1885 by Sir George Sitwell (1860-1943) in the classical Italianate style. Renishaw is set in seven acres of formal Italianate gardens featuring marble statues and yew hedges alongside English herbaceous borders and ornamental ponds. Mature woodlands and lakes offer wonderful walks and interesting bird life. Throughout the year are spectacular displays of flowers and plants, including bluebells in spring, cottage garden classics such as lupins, poppies and peonies in early summer and stunning roses later in the season. The old Stable Courtyard is home to the pretty, courtyard Café, offering home-made fresh food. Renishaw welcomes dogs on leads, and is wheelchair friendly. Renishaw Hall and Gardens are open from mid March until end of October, Wednesday to Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday’s from 10.30am to 4.30pm. The Hall is open for guided tours only every Friday at 12.30pm and 2.00pm. Private Group tours of the Gardens and Hall are welcome, and booking is recommended through the website www.renishaw-hall.co.uk, call 01246 432310 or email [email protected].
