A summer evening success in a great garden for great causes
This year’s annual fundraising evening was a wonderful celebration of a great garden for great causes. The generosity of our hosts, garden owners Mia and Graham Wrigley, and the tranquil beauty of the historical setting made An Evening at Chilworth Manor truly memorable.
“It was a wonderful evening and I hope that those who came enjoyed it as much as we did, exploring the stunning gardens, enjoying the delicious food and wine, and listening to the sounds of jazz play through the gardens on a perfect summer’s evening,” says National Garden Chief Executive, George Plumptre.
“The evening raised an incredible £27,700 and these funds will go a long way to helping us make up the shortfall in funding following the closure of our gardens during the pandemic and make such a difference to the nursing and health charities that we support.”
For those who were unable to attend – and for those who did – we’d like to invite you to watch the fascinating story of Chilworth Manor Gardens, filmed by event sponsors Candide, in which Head Gardener, John MacRae-Brown guides us around the historic site sharing its horticultural delights and hidden gems. This virtual tour was streamed across our social media channels on the evening of 11th August (do skip the countdown!) and is designed to help us to continue to engage audiences and donations. If you enjoy the film please consider making a donation – details are in the film description or you can donate here.
We are so grateful to all of you who joined us at Chilworth Manor, bought raffle tickets or made generous donations having watched the garden tour. Your generosity enables us to continue to make a significant impact with our support of nursing and health beneficiaries
