“We’re inviting everyone, it doesn’t matter whether your garden is large or small, tidy or untidy – it’s a place for enjoyment. This celebratory event gives us all an opportunity to share our gardens whilst raising funds for vital nursing and health charities. Your garden party could be afternoon tea and cakes, prosecco by candlelight, a coffee morning and book swap or even a plant and produce sale by the front gates – the choice is yours and everyone can get involved.”
In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the National Garden Scheme to close its garden gates for the first time in its history, leaving a shortfall in funding for its beneficiary charities. As the single largest funder of Marie Curie’s work, the longest standing partner of Macmillan Cancer Support and a key funder for Hospice UK, Carers Trust, Parkinson’s UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute this shortfall is having a major impact on these key nursing charities, who need our support more than ever.
Flower crowns are not only beautiful but are simple to make, creating a wonderful sense of occasion at your Great British Garden Party. Ask your guests to make a donation to make a flower crown and help raise a smile and funds at your Great British Garden Party!
To help you prepare for your Great British Garden Party, Garden Designer, Bunny Guinness, shares her tips on creating an enchanting entertaining space within the garden.
We’re delighted to be teaming up with Talking Tables as lead partner for this year’s Great British Garden Party. Their products will bring eye-catching colour and joy to the table, while their generosity will help us support some of the UK’s best loved nursing and health charities.
