Discover Longden Manor, Shropshire

In the 19th century there was an enormous park of some 250 acres created around Longden Manor and today much of the parkland provides a wonderful setting for the garden which today’s owner, Karen Lovegrove, has created over almost 30 years. Now she invites you to join her on a virtual tour of her garden.

A closer look…

This is an expansive garden whose fine trees and woodland walks hark back to Longden’s historic past and, now, having been brought back from neglect and an overgrown state, provide visitors with many hours of enjoyment to while away in peaceful surroundings in the Shropshire countryside.

Karen’s most characterful addition has been a variety of humourous topiary with insects and hidden faces among an array of characters that are especially popular with children – as is the treasure-hunt. In May banks of rhododendrons and azaleas burst into colour, while the water garden is further testament to the extensive restoration that has been carried out.
