Enjoy an outdoors, magical, low-cost way to spend time with your children
Victoria Fletcher was delighted to find out about children going free at many National Garden Scheme gardens and wanted to share her experience:
“I had no idea until last week that children go free. With today’s cost of living crisis, family days out have become unaffordable for many.
“When I happened upon a National Garden Scheme open day at Langcliffe Hall, Yorkshire, my children initially moaned that it would be just another garden. Were they wrong! They were enthralled and we spent two hours there for such a small amount of money. They absolutely loved it. For one, they got to play hide and seek in the kitchen garden and potting sheds!
“I can’t wait to try some more gardens this year and will be spreading the word amongst my friends and sharing this photo of the children enjoying the garden as a picture says a thousand words.
“I was so grateful for an outdoors, magical, low-cost way to spend time with my children, I’d love as many families as possible to know about it. I really think many families who are currently living really close to the breadline, have no idea there are some wonderful open garden spaces nearby,” adds Victoria.
Although Langcliffe Hall has finished it’s open day this year there are hundreds of other great gardens to explore with the family this summer. For more information about all National Garden Scheme gardens and a few suggestions for the children click here
