Crosswater Farm, Churt

Idyllic 5 acre woodland garden. Plantsman’s collection of rhododendrons and azaleas inc rare species collected in the Himalayas and hybrids raised by the family. Everything from alpine dwarfs to architectural large leaved trees. Ponds, stream and companion plantings inc sorbus, magnolias and Japanese acers, and many recent new plantings. Opens Thursday 1st, Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd and Thursday 8th May.

Coverwood Lakes, Ewhurst

14 acre landscaped garden in stunning position high in the Surrey Hills with four lakes and bog garden. Extensive rhododendrons, azaleas and fine trees. 3½ acre lakeside arboretum. Marked trail through the 180 acre working farm with Hereford cows and calves, sheep and horses, extensive views of the surrounding hills. Opens Sunday 4th May.

The Garth Pleasure Grounds, Lingfield

Mature 9 acre Pleasure Grounds created by Walter Godfrey in 1919, present an idyllic setting surrounding the former parish workhouse refurbished in Edwardian style. The formal gardens, enchanting nuttery, a spinney with many mature trees and a pond attract wildlife. Wonderful bluebells in spring. The woodland gardens and beautiful borders are full of colour and fragrance for year-round pleasure. Opens Sunday 4th May.

West Horsley Place, West Horsley

West Horsley Place is set within a 380 acre estate. The garden adjacent to the Manor House dates back to the C15 and is approx 5 acres, completely surrounded by a wall over 300 yrs old. It has an ancient orchard, rose garden, interestingly striped formal lawns, an historic box hedge, many herbaceous borders, a magnificent white wisteria over 60ft tall and many wildflower areas. Recently opened new sensory garden in formerly neglected paddock. Opens Sunday 4th May.

Fairmile Common Gardens, Cobham

Three contrasting gardens inc many mature specimen trees. One with new water feature surrounding oak room (not open), vegetables and potager. Another large garden with a castle folly alongside a new and extensive natural pond, sanctuary garden, triffid bed and wilderness mound. The third, a romantic, naturalistic garden on the wild side, much photographed and published. Opens Monday 5th May.

Timber Hill, Chobham

Welcome to 16 acres of informal garden, park and woodland; enticing views to Surrey Hills from the hill. Enjoy winter and spring walks, through witch-hazel and winter honeysuckle, crocus and snowdrops, daffodils/narcissi and spring flowers, then gorgeous bluebells and azaleas and fleeting cherry blossom. Opens Wednesday 7th May, pre-booking essential.
