A four acre garden on a sloping hillside overlooking the Upper Clwyd Valley. The garden has mature trees with snowdrops, fritillaries and cyclamen. An Italianate garden of box hedging lies below the house ponds, perennials, roses and an orchard are also to be enjoyed within this cleverly structured area. A seven acre garden parts date back to the early C19 with mature trees inc oaks, wellingtonia, Acacia robinia and an orchard. Since 2020 the owners have bought back and cleared an area neglected for decades which would have been part of a formal garden. There are herbaceous borders, rose parterre, summerhouse and ponds leading on to a wildlife area where over a 100 trees have been planted. An acre garden, overflowing with unusual cottage garden plants. Discover the sunken patio garden with stone troughs as well as a newly replanted rock garden and gravel bed with grasses. Trellises covered in roses and clematis delight visitors. Some unusual trees and wonderful colour means there is interest all summer. We also have late flowering salvias and autumn cyclamen. Opens for By Arrangement visits for groups of up to 15.
Approximately ⅔ acre garden created around 1870, possibly under Edward Kemp’s guidance, and may be considered the oldest ‘domestic’ garden in Mold. The general layout and many original features remain. It comprises herbaceous borders, a small orchard, lawns, a pond and a wisteria covered walkway. There is also a wooded area with a number of old yew trees dating back to Victorian times. Opens for By Arrangement visits from April to 20 September for groups of between 5 and 20.
More than an acre of garden set in woodland with sea views. Discover inner walled area with small trees, shrubs and herbaceous perennials. Hostas are a feature. Terraces planted with drought tolerant plants. Outer garden has a vegetable area, greenhouses, and shrub and herbaceous perennial borders. A steep grassy slope is planted with unusual small trees and shrubs. Sensible footwear is advised. Opens for By Arrangement visits from April to August for groups of between 15 and 30.
Set in about an acre of ground is a new garden and work in progress. Divided into small areas around a limestone outcrop the garden has herbaceous borders, water features, seating areas, mature trees, and a woodland walk. The garden is accessible but there are steps and slopes. The woodland path is uneven. Special features inc limestone ridges, tree carving, and a bridged water flow. Opens for By Arrangement visits from 23 May to 26 June for groups of between 5 and 25.
Small cottage garden on a south west facing sloped site. There is stone wall terracing and steps that lead to different areas inc a wildlife pond, raised ponds, gravel planting, small herbaceous borders, lawn area, mini orchard, Japanese style courtyard and seating areas. Lovingly developed over the years, still making mistakes and still a work in progress. Opens for By Arrangement visits from May to 28 June for groups of between 5 and 20.
