Paper bag stars

These easy to make paper bag stars have a a huge impact and can be made with white or brown paper bags.

What you need:

Paper bags (the ones with a gusset) we used 8 per star
Glue
Scissors
Twine or ribbon to hang

Method:

1. Take 8 paper bags and place glue in a ‘T’ shape – a line of glue across the bottom of each bag and one line up the middle stacking the bags on top of each other (opening at the top) as you go.

2. Once glued cut the top into a triangle and snip triangles out of each side (you can experiment with different patterns by making circular or multiple cut outs but not so many as to make the star weak!).

3. Once glued in a stack and cut fan the bags open and glue or staple the shape to hold. You can staple a ribbon or string into place at the same time.

4. Hang in place!

Using different sized bags will give you a variety of shapes and sizes. Small bags or doilies make lovely stars for your tree or wreaths too.
