Ramblers, Gloucestershire: nature’s glory

A walk through the garden at Ramblers in Lydney, Gloucestershire is like a little glimpse of Eden this spring. Lovely meandering levels, clipped box and bountiful borders lead you to an enchanting mature orchard. Join owners Jane and Leslie Hale, and their dogs, for a ramble through Ramblers:

A closer look

This peaceful medium sized country garden with informal cottage planting, herbaceous borders and small pond looking through hedge windows onto wild flower meadow and a mature apple orchard is a wonderfully, restful retreat. Along with a fernery, shade loving plants and topiary and a glorious clematis montana there is a large productive vegetable garden. Justifiably, Ramblers is a past winner of The English Garden magazine’s Britain’s Best Gardener’s Garden competition. Be sure to pay a visit when it re-opens. For details click here
