Description
The workshop is led by Graham Sykes, who has been propagating at Trevena Cross garden Nurseries for over 25 years. He will chat to you about his propagation techniques and get you doing your own cuttings, so make sure you bring your secateurs. Trevenna Cross is a huge, 35 acre nursery where staff grow 90% of the plants sold on-site. It is one of Cornwall’s leading Garden Centres and has been family run for over 40 years.
Graham will take you behind the scenes to show how the stock beds of rare, unusual and exotic plants are used for cuttings. The workshop will be carried out on two tables in Graham’s propagation area, in one of the massive polytunnels. Make sure you wear comfortable layers as it can get hot in the tunnel. Sturdy footwear is also needed as it is gravel roads around the nursery and can be muddy in places. There is a great cafe for refreshments before or after the session. Drinking water will be provided
