A pretty, small waterside garden set between the River Kennet and the Kennet and Avon Canal. Interesting combinations of colour and texture to look at rather than walk through, although visitors are welcome to do that too. A deck overlooks a sluiceway towards a lawn and border. Started from scratch in 2005 and mostly again after the floods of 2014. Trying high planters this yr. Opens Sunday 6th July.
The main garden has primarily exotic and Mediterranean planting with small paths through some of the beds, inviting you to take a closer look. This leads into a kitchen garden with greenhouse, chickens and ducks. There is a small woodland garden with stumpery and fire pit. The garden has plenty of places to sit and relax. Opens Sunday 6th July.
A wildlife friendly, plant lover’s cottage garden with borders generously planted with bulbs, perennials, grasses and shrubs for successional interest for every season. Productive vegetable garden and greenhouses. Many pots and baskets with seasonal annuals and tender perennials, especially salvias. Opens Friday 18th and Tuesday 29th July, pre-booking essential.
