A two acre garden that has been in the making for over 15 years, Ffynnonlas is a beautiful area that delivers on many different aspects of gardening. There are large lawns, several beds of mature shrubs and flowers. A small lake and two smaller ponds that are separated by a Monet style bridge with lilies. Large early C19 garden on site of Medieval nunnery, renovated and replanted since 1989. Discover the large pool and bog garden as well as a formal water garden. Carefully designed hillside country garden next to the Ystwyth Forest with views overlooking the valley. An acre of vistas with varied interest, colour and textures; from spring bulbs and bluebells, to a pond, rhododendrons, and azaleas throughout May. Roses bloom from June and the garden has a Mediterranean summer feel with swathes of lavender, grapevines and lots of brightly coloured hydrangeas. A new garden started in 2020 which features very little hard landscaping, intentionally soft edges, and has an ethos of treading lightly to enhance ecological value. The owner also has a penchant for growing unusual and interesting woody shrubs and trees. The garden is designed to blend defined spaces for entertaining and relaxing with pathways that encourage visitors to wander. Wildlife garden, rich in biodiversity, set in a five acre smallholding with large pool. The garden inc a small woodland area and beds of shrubs and herbaceous planting containing more unusual plants. A colourful garden on a farm. Planting areas wherever space allows. There’s a bog garden featuring candelabra primulas, foxglove and tree lupin walk, mixed perennial beds with shrubs and many containers nestling in original farmyard. Also a herd of rare Ancient Cattle of Wales plus an important Iron Age Fort (Cadw) on the farm, with amazing views over Cardigan Bay and Ceredigion countryside. A two acre garden set within a 14 acre wooded landscape with historic industrial features, inc a former corn mill and pond. From the garden, a view of Caradog Falls (100ft waterfall) can be seen. The garden inc masses of rhododendron, azalea, camellia and magnolia with many other unusual trees and shrubs. There are woodland walks although Storm Darragh has caused a significant loss of the woodland. Opens for By Arrangement visits from 3 May to 14 June for groups of up to 15.
