Tucked behind a large Grade II listed Georgian house, the gardens of Holly House are a hidden gem. Split into 3 sections they comprise the top garden with terrace, lawn and herbaceous borders. The middle garden has a hydrangea walk, formal rose garden, wildflower/orchard area, fruit and vegetable beds and large greenhouse. Opens Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August.
The allotments are managed by Grange Town Council. Opened in 2010, 30 plots are now rented out and offer a wide selection of gardening styles and techniques. The majority of plots grow a mixture of vegetables, fruit trees and flowers. There are a few communal areas where local fruit tree varieties have been donated by plot holders with herbaceous borders and annuals. Opens Sunday 4th August.

The gardens at Cragwood Country House are an integral part of the property’s rich history and charm. The gardens were originally designed in the late C19 by the renowned landscape architect Thomas Hayton Mawson, who was known for his work in the Lake District and other parts of England. Mawson created a beautiful formal garden with carefully manicured lawns, elegant flower beds, and striking topiary, as well as a peaceful woodland walk and a charming rock garden. Opens Monday 5th August.
A unique nursery and garden designed and built over the past 35 yrs. The gardens inc lawns, flowing perennial borders, rare and unusual shrubs, trees, a small orchard and a kitchen garden. A natural stream runs into a small lake, a haven for wildlife and birds. At the head of the lake stands a small frescoed chapel designed and built by the owner for family use. Netherby Hall Garden is 36 acres, consisting of a 1½ acre walled kitchen garden which produces fruit, vegetables and herbs for the Pentonbridge Inn restaurant, as well as herbaceous borders, traditional kidney beds amongst wonderful lawns, woodlands with many fine specimen trees, azaleas and rhododendrons, all set in a designed landscape bordering the River Esk. The garden extends to 4½ acres and overlooks the Lyth valley with extensive views south to Morecambe Bay and east to the Howgills.
