Nestled below the vineyards, The Manor garden at Nyetimber is one that is rarely glimpsed. This garden has everything from extensive herbaceous borders, to orchard, flower and rose garden, and courtyard. A tapestry of topiary, reflected in the lily ponds frame a beautiful view of the South Downs. Extensively redesigned and replanted in 2020, this newly establishing garden is one not to be missed. Set on a southerly ridge. Stone walls and yew hedges divide the garden into enclosed areas with herbaceous borders, shrubs, long walks and young and mature trees. There are interesting plants flowering most of the time. In 2020 a Japanese Tea House was added at the bottom of the garden. Opens Friday 11th July, pre-booking essential.
A total transformation: this once neglected south facing, walled garden (1840s), has for three decades become an open garden regular. Closed in 2024 for a complete redesign our intention is to use a blend of traditional and tropical planting to better capture the colour, sunlight and space. With many outcomes as yet uncertain we hope you will visit to share our trepidation and excitement. Opens Saturday 12th July.
