About Orchard House

5 acre garden. The garden includes two wooded areas with eco hedges and eco bug hotels. A dramatic glade of specimen acers with carpets of wild violets and forget me knots beneath. Other specimen trees are complimented by the imaginative shade tolerant plantings including Trilliums, Erythroniums and cyclamens, together with a collection of witch hazels. Two ponds with wild flower planting. Huge swathes of Narcissi, tulips, snowdrops, camassias and fritillarias provide six months of flowering interest from the beginning of the year. Large avenues of silver birches run down to a bog garden. A board walk turns and twists through the bog garden which has a large range of moisture loving plants including Marsh marigolds and candlestick primulas. This leads on to a wildflower meadow area which has been planted up over the last four years with wild flower plugs ensuring a dramatic display from May to end Sept. A bleached hornbeam running alongside a raised area which has numerous raised beds used as a cutting garden for flowers and some vegetables. The garden is home to three beehives that are enclosed in a circle of estate fencing. The garden is designed by Joanne Alderson and created https://gardendesignco.co.uk/portfolio/orchard-house/
