Endhouse is a tranquil urban oasis of linked gardens, inc a secret rose garden. It has won Southampton’s Best Private Garden award six times and features statuary, studio ceramics, specimen palms, tree ferns, and acers. A small garden (12 metres by 12 metres) is full of interest and ideas, showing what can be achieved in a small space. The borders feature mature trees and shrubs underplanted with perennials, while half-hardy plants such as hedychium and annuals add to the overall effect. A gravel area has replaced the lawn, making room for a different range of plants. The borders were updated this autumn with plants suited to hot weather.
