Special Garden Events in Hertfordshire

Bhaktivedanta Manor, Watford

Immerse yourself in the quiet, tranquil peace of one of Hertfordshire’s best-kept secrets as the Bhaktivedanta Manor Hare Krishna Temple opens its spectacular grounds to the public for the National Garden Scheme. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the deeply personal George Harrison Garden—a serene sanctuary dedicated to the legendary Beatle who found spiritual solace at the Manor. Explore enchanting woodland paths around a beautiful lake and the late spring blooms in formal and more informal gardens.

This extraordinary experience offers visitors:

  • Exclusive guided tours revealing the spiritual significance and horticultural secrets behind these meticulously maintained grounds. Meet the Head Gardener and enjoy a behind-the-scenes glimpse at areas not usually open to the public.
  • A close encounter with the Temple’s protected cow herd – meet some happy and pampered cows.
  • A delicious authentic vegetarian lunch served from 13:30 onwards for the duration of the event.
  • Unhurried access to linger, discover, and enjoy the gardens at your own pace before or after your tour.
  • Plant Sale featuring ornamental and edible plants and produce from the Temple – delicious food to take home.

Opens on Friday 17th April, Friday 19th June 2026 and Friday 14th August 2026.
