From rolling hills and valleys to coastal retreats and city secrets National Garden Scheme gardens across Wales offer a diverse and magical portfolio of gardens to explore. With almost 300 gardens opening in 2025 there are plenty to enjoy.
As well as many of the seasonal favourites like the spectacular Vaynor Park in Welshpool, the Arts and Crafts exemplar at High Glanau Manor in Monmouth, and the walled garden where Beatrix Potter wrote and illustrated the Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies, Gwaenynog in Denbigh, there are over 40 new gardens opening in the year ahead.
NEW for 2025 is Fairdene Gallery Garden a private garden and gallery evolved over 20 years designed and planted by its artist owner, Frieda Hughes. It reflects her idiosyncratic style, love of co-ordinated colour, enthusiasm for rock placement, and joy in designing extraordinary metalwork. A limited number of tickets have been made available for these two special one-day events kindly hosted by Frieda Hughes with an introductory talk by Frieda on her garden and art followed by a tour of garden and gallery.
