The top terrace overlooks a large koi pond surrounded by bog plants, marginals and herbaceous perennials. Seating areas on second terrace under mature beech trees. The old paddock is an ornamental wilderness of unmown grass with perennials, a turf mound and wildlife ponds with clipped yew hedges surrounded by maturing trees. Promoting the enjoyment of art. Established in 1988, Patchings is set in 50 acres with a visitor centre and galleries – a haven for artists and a tranquil setting for visitors. Visitors may watch artists at work on the surrounding views. An exhibition of recent work in oil and watercolour by David Curtis ROI, RSMA will be on show in the Barn Gallery.

The grass-lined approach to this garden between yew hedges sets the tone to the wide sweeps of lawn and generous terrace. Herbaceous beds, irises, roses and rambling roses scrambling into fruit trees. The mature planting of shrubs and weeping trees enhances this pretty barn conversion on the edge of the Wellow Dyke.
