This garden shows that winter need not be dull as there is much to see and enjoy in the depths of winter. Here in my garden I have collected many single and double snowdrops, hellebores, bulbs and other winter treasures, some not widely known. As it is a sheltered garden, yes, there are flowers to enjoy in January and early February. Come and see the enormous Daphne bholua that scents the garden for weeks on end at this time of year. A guided walk with the owners in the historic garden developed over 40 years. Begin with looking at the many snowdrop cultivars, the walk then crosses over a meadow to the lake, where there are specimen trees and shrubs planted for winter interest and scent. Paths lead up the hillside through woods with large drifts of snowdrops returning downhill towards the house. Opens Sunday 15th February.

This 1½ acre garden complements our C17 Longhouse and 11 acre smallholding. The gardens at Normans Hall are spread over 3 acres. The spring gardens consist of a snowdrop walk, a daffodil dell and a bluebell woodland. On entering our garden in summer, we have a large rill with roses at the front of the house. To the right as you come in there is a new woodland with over 100 birch trees of variety. The wilderness woodland will open for visitors to view the spring flowers or the autumn colours. The Campus contains many historic features inc an C18 Hall, a former fishing lodge, pleasure garden and croquet lawn. Many references to fish reflect its former name, Trout Hall. Our orchard is a Priority One habitat, important to biodiversity. Flanking the conference centre are a meadow and fine oak specimens, and in the main lake south of the orchard are carp, reflecting the history of the Hall. Opens Saturday 14th March.
