At heart, THE PIGs are restaurants with rooms where everything starts with the Kitchen Garden. Their Gardeners and Chefs work hand-in-hand to create menus brimful of the freshest seasonal flavours. Flavoursome, simple dishes made with their own produce and the best local ingredients is what the team at THE PIG love.
This September selected venues will be opening their garden gates for the National Garden Scheme, sharing how they work year round to tend to and care for their working gardens and the seasonal changes that the gardens go through. You will explore their Greenhouses and take a peek in their polytunnels, and learn about the traditional practices that the Kitchen Gardeners and Chefs use to make the most out of their produce throughout the year.
After wandering the gardens you will have worked up an appetite, so to round off your time, THE PIG teams will make sure you are fed and watered with garden-inspired tipples and a delicious and plentiful lunch. Each event will have its own unique twist, depending on the PIG you choose to visit.
