Stunning Southport Flower Show Success

The Lancashire team had a stunning success at the Southport Flower Show this summer with their ‘Plant a Slice of Happiness’ show garden. Not only did it pick up a gold medal but a trophy too.
“We had a fabulous four days at the very sunny Southport Flower Show with huge crowds every day,” says Marian Jones, County Organiser for Lancashire, Liverpool and Greater Manchester. “And of course we were delighted to be awarded a Large Gold Medal and the Mullard Challenge trophy (best small garden in show) for our National Garden Scheme charity garden titled Plant a Slice of Happiness.
“Our garden was loved by everyone with lots of lovely comments for visitors and some celebrities – Hamza Yassin, David Domoney, Rosemary Shrager, The Cloud Gardener Jason Williams, Dave the Plantman, George and Carole from Beechgrove – all took the opportunity to be photographed sitting in the garden at our table with tea and cake.
“Our team and some local garden openers helped us greeting and talking about the National Garden Scheme and open gardens and we have 15 potential new gardens to follow up.”
Huge thanks to everyone involved on the National Garden Scheme team and especially garden designer Nina Mitchell-Price of @appletree_pheasant, Lewis Chapman from @lc.turfingservices and Josh Howard of JRH Landscaping and Groundwork @jrh_paving who worked so hard to make the garden such a success.
