Visitors can see different settings to grow alpines, inc rock and tufa, scree, a dry mediterranean bed, shade and sunny areas, also a dedicated alpine house, and many pots and troughs with alpines and small bulbs. An extraordinary town garden on the northern edge of Worcester packed with different plants and year-round interest guaranteed to give visitors ideas and inspiration for their own gardens. Over 20 years visitors have enjoyed the unique and surprising features of this garden which has many planting schemes for a variety of situations. 10 acre garden surrounding beautiful medieval moated manor house (not open). White garden, built and planted in 1997 surrounded on all sides by old topiary. Potager, vegetable garden and working greenhouses, all beautifully maintained. Rare double working moat and waterways inc Westminster Pool laid down in Henry VII`s reign to mark the consecration of the knave of Westminster Abbey. This is a plant specialist’s 1½ acre informal working garden, parts of which are used for plant production rather than for show. Situated next to common land. Mixed borders with wide variety of hardy perennials where plants are allowed to self seed. Large collection of snowdrops. A multi-themed mature garden with numerous water features and colourful borders. There is a formal white garden, wildlife pond and cutting garden surrounded by large rhododendrons which give a colourful display in late spring. The 1½ acre garden at Cowleigh Park Farm surrounds a Grade II listed timber framed former farmhouse (not open). Whilst no longer a farm, the property has views to adjacent orchards and inc lawns, spring fed ponds, a waterfall and stream. The focus in established beds and borders is to be wildlife and bee friendly. The garden contains multiple seating areas and a summerhouse. A hillside garden in Malvern with three terraces and views over the Severn Vale. The first level has a potager with greenhouse, the second is a formal terrace and courtyard by the house, and the third is landscaped to create small cottage and scree gardens, stumpery and pergola under mature cedars. ⅓ acre gardens. The front has 3 barrels of ericaceous plants. A conifer bed, hydrangeas and a 300+ year old olive tree, monkey puzzle, acers, silver birch and various shrubs. The centre features a large piece Forest of Dean rock. A rose arch at one entrance. The rear garden has an oasis of colour created by numerous trees including acers, weeping willow and weeping birch. Beginning in March 2016 our plan was to create a garden with a decidedly tropical feel to inc palms from around the world, with tree ferns, bananas and many other strange and unusual plants from warmer climes that would normally be considered difficult to grow here as well as a pond and small waterfall. A 10 acre historic garden, at the centre of a picturesque Cotswold village, nestled amongst Capability Brown inspired Parkland. The Garden compromises vast formal lawns skirted by a series of rills and ponds which reflect the ancient plane trees that are dotted throughout the garden. A Grade II listed black and white cottage (not open) south west facing gardens with far reaching views across orchards to Abberley Clock Tower. The ¾ acre garden comprises gently sloping lawns with mixed and woodland borders, shade and plenty of strategically placed seating. The garden exudes a quirky and humorous character with the odd surprise and even a Shed of the Year Runner Up. New for 2024 is a lovingly created tile path which twists through a fernery and is made from recycled roof tiles edged with Victorian blue edging tiles. We have planted fruit trees in espaliers and cordons as they would have been when the garden was first set out and have a nature area with walks and some woodland. One acre of colour from April to Sept in a peaceful Cotswold stone walled shrub and herbaceous garden with mature and young trees inc beech, and catalpa. Spring fed gravel brook bordered by primula. Pastel colours merge with cool white and blue and later hot colours turn to mellow yellow. Lavender and lots of roses.
