The garden at 10 Statham Avenue has evolved over the last 30 years under the care of the current owners Mike and Gail Porter. Managing the rising slope has been addressed using several levelled beds with mixed planting and enticing seating areas. Colourful open sunny beds contrast with shady secret places. A wide variety of bulbs in spring continue through the summer, including many tree lilies. Warm evenings are rewarded with fragrance from the numerous roses and shrubs.
There’s a stylish working greenhouse and several interesting outhouses including the ‘Egg House’. Walk to the top of the garden and explore ‘Thomas’s Steps’ below the Bridgewater towpath. before sitting and enjoying the view down over the lawn and terraces. A warm welcome and tempting refreshments are guaranteed. This is a garden you may not want to leave.
