Created from scratch in autumn 2014, it is courtyard in style and formed around a series of raised beds and oak structures. There is a decked area adjacent to the house and a pond with water feature. This is a garden for all seasons with interesting and unusual plants. It comes to life with a winter border planted with colourful cornus and evergreen shrubs, underplanted here with snowdrops and hellebores. Gravel areas are carpeted with miniature cyclamen. It develops through the seasons culminating in early autumn with a spectacular show of sun-loving herbaceous plants. Opens for By Arrangement visits all year.
Mixed colourful planting to the rear of the house leading to a long sunny border of drought tolerant plants and large topiary subjects. Beyond the farmyard is a wildlife pond, small kitchen garden and wildflower orchard with a rose walk. Cut flower area and countryside views. Livestock may be present in adjoining fields. Opens for By Arrangement visits from June to August for groups of between 10 and 20.
Topiary garden greets visitors before they enter a genuine Japanese Feng Shui garden inc bonsai. Large collection of Japanese plants, Koi pond, lily pond and a Japanese Tea House. The garden was created from scratch by the owners about 20 years ago and has many interesting features inc Japanese lanterns and a Kneeling Archer terracotta soldier from China. Opens for By Arrangement visits from April to September.
Small town garden developed over 30 years from heavy clay and builder’s rubble. Gravel garden with sedum and dwarf conifer collection at the front. The back garden is mainly planted with hardy evergreen shrubs and divided into four main areas for structure – pots and perennials provide year-round interest and colour. We are attempting to garden more sustainably. Opens for By Arrangement visits from 2nd April to 29th September for groups of up to 6.
A four acre garden full of colour and interest. The owner has a free style of gardening sensitive to wildlife. Beds overflowing with tulips, alliums, bearded iris, peonies, poppies, geraniums and much more. Beautiful mature trees and many more planted in the last 30 years inc a large selection of betulas. Gravel gardens, box hedging and clipped balls, woodland garden and wildflower meadows. Opens for By Arrangement visits from April to June.
A colourful town garden with herbaceous borders, climbers, a greenhouse and a pond. Planted in cottage garden style with traditional flowers, the borders overflow with late summer annuals and perennials inc salvias and rudbeckia. The pretty terrace next to the house is lined with ferns and hostas. The owners also make home-made chutneys and preserves which can be purchased on the day.
