Berkshire has a variety of gardens open to visit and explore in August, find out more below…

Wembury, Maidenhead

A wildlife friendly, plant lover’s cottage garden with borders generously planted with bulbs, perennials, grasses, and shrubs for interest in every season. Productive vegetable garden and greenhouses. Many pots and baskets with seasonal annuals and tender perennials, especially salvias. Opens Wednesday 5th August, pre-booking essential.

Coworth Park, Ascot

A rare opportunity to enjoy a guided tour with the Head Gardener at Coworth Park, followed by a cream tea in the Drawing Room. Set amongst 240 acres of gardens, parkland, paddocks, and woodland. Highlights inc the beautiful terrace and rose gardens bordered by lavender, a sunken garden, weeping lime trees, and a 10 acre wildflower meadow. Cream tea inc tea or coffee, a scone, and cake. Please email [email protected] in advance with any dietary or allergy requirements. Opens Thursday 6th August, pre-booking essential.

Stockcross House, Stockcross

Romantic 2 acre garden set around a listed former Victorian rectory, created over the last 31 yrs. It features deep mixed borders with succession planting, and an emphasis on both height and strong complementary colour combinations. A wisteria-clad pergola, an orangery, a folly with a reflecting pond, a croquet lawn and pavilion, naturalistic planting with a pond on the lower level, a small stumpery, and a kitchen garden. Opens Sunday 23rd August.

6 Beverley Gardens, Wargrave

The main garden has primarily Mediterranean and exotic planting, with paths through some of the beds, inviting you to take a closer look. This leads into a kitchen garden with a greenhouse and a poultry run housing chickens and ducks. There is a small woodland garden with a stumpery and fire pit. The garden has several places to sit and relax with tea and home-made cake. Children are very welcome. Opens Sunday 23rd August.
