Bridgerton comes to Squerryes Court
Squerryes Court in Westerham, Kent has announced that this historic property features as one of the locations in the forthcoming series of Bridgerton being released on 16 May 2024.
Back in August 2022, during the quiet days of summer, Squerryes Court was shaken from its warm slumber when the Bridgerton production team rolled through the front gates and set up home for two weeks. Under a shroud of secrecy, the family home of the Warde family at the centre of the Squerryes Estate had been booked as a location for filming season three of the Netflix hit series.
The delightful gardens were used as a scene for a grand garden party and some rooms in the house were used as green rooms for the cast.
Fans of Bridgerton can visit Squerryes Court this year as part of the National Garden Scheme on Friday 17th May. Open from 11am-5pm tickets are £8 per adult, children free. Tickets can be purchased in advance and light refreshments will be available and sold in aid of Cancer Research. Squerryes Wine Ambassadors will also be at the garden open day offering visitors the opportunity to buy a glass of Squerryes and to learn a bit about the Squerryes award-winning English sparkling wines.
Squerryes owner Henry Warde said: “We were delighted to have the Netflix Bridgerton team at Squerryes Court back in August 2022. It was a fascinating experience to watch them transform the garden into the set and we’re looking forward to seeing those scenes once the new series is released. Although the team were with us for 14 days in total, it was just 3 days of filming where 350 crew, extras and staff were in the garden and family life had to be tightly controlled. The only hiccup was when our cocker spaniel, Inca, escaped during an important filming moment and ran across the set. We’ll be looking closely to see if she appears in the final edit!”
