Jo Whiley, one of the country’s best-known pop music journalists and DJs, and new National Garden Scheme Ambassador, shares her tips for her ultimate Great British Garden Party fundraiser.

Jo says: “The Great British Garden Party is the most brilliant fundraiser organised by the National Garden Scheme which I am very happy to support. I’m a big fan of having parties and I love my garden so it makes complete sense. 

“If I was going to have the ultimate garden party I’d of course invite all my friends, particularly the ones that love gardens and my family and I’d do it like a country fair so that people could contribute and raise funds – give money – by way of having fun. So, it would be like throwing balls through hoops, sponges at people, that kind of malarkey. We’d have lots of food as well, nibbles served up and people could just enjoy all the hard work I’ve done throughout the year and just enjoy themselves here and all contributing to the Great British Garden Party organised by the National Garden Scheme.”
