Our garden was designed in the early 1900s by Sir Reginald Blomfield: architect, garden designer and author. Yew hedges divide the garden into rooms, each one with its own atmosphere. Topiary peacocks welcome visitors at the front door and densely planted borders ensure botanical interest from spring through to autumn. Please Note: the house will not be open. Fifty yrs on, garden life is different with unexpected trees, bulbs, shrubs, perennials bursting out year-round with birdlife, wildlife and life in general. In a much admired location, this stunning canalside garden has a large variety of plants, styles, structures and unusual bygones. Bulbs and hellebores abound in March, colourful planting in July/September, many well-stocked pots, all set against a backdrop of trees and shrubs in themed areas. Visitors comment on the many different bird species evident during their visit. Opens Sunday 22nd March.

Wildlife friendly garden with many small trees, bushes, and perennials. We aim to have something flowering every month of the year to support insect life. Gravel paths and stone steps provide access to the sloping site, which is just under ¼ acre. The garden is in the process of being made even more wildlife friendly, with many more plants being added to feed bees, moths, and butterflies. Opens Sunday 5th April.
Flore gardens have welcomed visitors since 1963 as part of the Flore Flower Festival, partnering with the NGS since 1992 with openings every year. Flore is a picturesque village with views overlooking the Upper Nene Valley. We have a varied mix of large and small gardens, each developed by friendly, enthusiastic owners who will be in their garden on the day. From traditional to eccentric, the gardens offer year-round interest, with features such as greenhouses, gazebos, summerhouses, water features, and seating areas to rest while enjoying the gardens. The June opening coincides with the long running Flore Flower Festival, featuring themed floral displays in the church and chapel. Opens Sunday 12th April.
A garden for all seasons with quirky original sculptures and many faces. Firstly, a south aspect lawn and borders containing bulbs, shrubs, roses and rare trees with year-round interest; hedging, palms, climbers, a wildlife, fish and lily pond, terrace with potted bulbs and unusual plants in odd containers. Secondly, a secret garden with garden room, small orchard, raised bed potager and greenhouse. Opens Sunday 19th April with Rosi’s Taverna.
An established medium south facing town garden. Kitchen garden intermingles with flowers, shrubs, plenty of fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetables in raised beds. Cacti and succulents are in the new greenhouse. A new archway is under construction. A bog garden and a pyramid water feature. Holdenby has a historic Grade I listed garden. The inner garden inc Rosemary Verey’s renowned Elizabethan Garden and Rupert Golby’s Pond Garden and long borders. There is also a delightful walled kitchen garden. Away from the formal gardens, the terraces of the original Elizabethan Garden are still visible, one of the best preserved examples of their kind.
