By Arrangement gardens in Northumberland

If you’re looking to organise a private visit to a garden, whether it be for a local group or for friends and family, a By Arrangement can provide something a little different. In Northumberland there’s a range of gardens available for private By Arrangement visits, find out more below.

The Beacon, Stocksfield

This garden illustrates how to make a cottage garden on a steep site with loads of interest at different levels. Planted with acers, roses and a variety of cottage garden and formal plants. Water runs gently through it and there are tranquil places to sit and talk or just reflect. Stunning colour and plant combinations. Opens for By Arrangement visits for groups of 5+.

Fallodon Hall, Alnwick

Part of Northumberland’s history. Extensive, well established garden, with a hot greenhouse beside the bog garden. The late C17 kitchen garden walls surround cutting and vegetable borders and the fruit greenhouse. Natasha McEwen replanted the sunken garden (from 1898) and her redesigned 30 metres border was planted in 2019. Woodlands, pond and arboretum with over 10 acres to explore. Opens for By Arrangement visits from 15 May to September for groups of between 5 and 25.
