What is a second?
All pottery is inspected before it leaves the Emma Bridgewater factory. When an item is classified as a second, the fault or faults may be in the finish, the decoration or the shape. The faults are not structural (i.e. each piece still functions as its intended and is useable). Faults are marked with a black line which will be visible when your product arrives but washes off with a damp cloth.

The gorgeous honeysuckle design was inspired by our National Garden Scheme Chelsea 2024 show garden with its beautiful woodland planting, designed by Tom Stuart-Smith. The twirling tendrils of the honeysuckle and its trumpet like flowers and sweet fragrance make it a paradise for wildlife.
