Dedicated Volunteer Susan Bennett wins much deserved award

Susan Bennett has opened her garden for the National Garden Scheme since 1996 and raised over £115,000 for the charity in that time, so we were delighted to see her dedication to gardening recognised with an award for her outstanding contribution in encouraging gardening in the community and charitable fundraising.
As well as opening her garden, Susan has been a part of our our London County team for 16 years, identifying new gardens to open and supporting garden owners.
Susan says: ‘I was totally surprised to receive a certificate from the RHS from the Mayor as well as a cup and other prizes at our Horticultural Show…life is full of surprises!’
Susan and Earl have had a record year of garden opening raising £8,388.37 so far in 2025. Keep an eye on our website later this year to find out when you can visit the garden in 2026.
