The 1½ acre garden at Cowleigh Park Farm surrounds a Grade II listed timber framed former farmhouse (not open). Whilst no longer a farm, the property has views to adjacent orchards and inc lawns, spring fed ponds, a waterfall and stream. ⅓ acre gardens. The front has three barrels of ericaceous plants. A conifer bed, hydrangeas and a 300+ yr old olive tree, monkey puzzle, acers, silver birch and shrubs. The centre features a piece of Forest of Dean rock. A rose arch at one entrance. The rear garden is an oasis of colour created by numerous trees inc acers, weeping purple beech and an unusual angelica, a roses, hosta bed and ferns. Various statues and metal sculptures on display containing a variety of animals inc an alligator or crocodile (we’re not sure which). A 10 acre historic garden, at the centre of a picturesque Cotswold village, nestled amongst Capability Brown inspired Parkland. The garden compromises vast formal lawns skirted by a series of rills and ponds which reflect the ancient plane trees that are dotted throughout the garden. The south side of the house has a formal terrace with mixed borders and yew hedging, overlooking a formal lawn with a reflection pool and yew topiary. Running parallel to the pool is a long mixed border which repeats its colours of silver and gold down to the pool house. It not only exudes a quirky and humorous character but a thriving example the world’s rarest tree! A built in reclaimed cast iron range with Victorian tiled surround complete with vintage kitchenalia provides an unusual take on an outdoor kitchen! On the 3rd May, the annual Plant Bonanza will take place at neighbouring garden ‘Maranatha’ in aid of the St Laurence Church. Two walled gardens and a 60ft greenhouse from the early 1800s set in six acres with wonderful views of the entire length of the Malvern ridge. One Walled garden is set out with formal paths and borders bounded by box hedging. We have planted fruit trees in espaliers and cordons as they would have been when the garden was first set out and have a nature area with walks and some woodland. Opens for By Arrangement visits.
⅓ acre wildlife friendly garden (surprisingly tucked away behind a 1925 semi) inc an oval patio with feature gabion wall (or a giant bug house?), 2 wildlife ponds connected by a pretty stream, a cottage garden with rose covered obelisks, a vegetable garden enclosed by a brick pergola and a small orchard with wildflower meadow. We have used many repurposed materials when creating our garden and there are several artistic creations made by garden owner, Bob.
