30 years of partnership celebrated with Hospice UK
This autumn, Hospice UK welcomed National Garden Scheme CEO Richard Claxton, the National Garden Scheme Durham County team and local garden owners to St Cuthberts Hospice in Durham to celebrate 30 years of National Garden Scheme support for Hospice UK.
Guests toured the hospice gardens, including the Hospice UK Garden of Compassion, which was relocated to St Cuthberts following its debut at RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2025. They also heard from the CEOs of both organisations on what the partnership has achieved.

Since 1996, The National Garden Scheme has donated more than £8.4million to Hospice UK, helping to fight for hospice care for all.
“We simply wouldn’t be the charity we are today without the support of the National Garden Scheme,” says Hopsice UK CEO, Toby Porter.
