Record donation from Griffin Glasshouses
Fresh from the Gold Medal winning success of its show garden at RHS Chelsea the National Garden Scheme is delighted to announce another celebratory event – the donation of £35,620 from the 2023 sales of Griffin Glasshouses. It’s the largest annual contribution made by Griffin to the charity through the sale of its stunning collection of National Garden Scheme inspired modern and Victorian greenhouses since the partnership began in 2013.
“Year on year the contributions from Griffin Glasshouses have been a fantastic addition to our fundraising,” says National Garden Scheme CEO, George Plumptre. “The ongoing and significant contributions continue to help increase the support we are able to provide to our beneficiary charities, including some of the UK’s best-loved nursing charities like Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie and Parkinson’s UK.”
The cheque presentation was made on the charity’s show garden at RHS Chelsea by Linda Lane, Managing Director of Griffin Glasshouses to National Garden Scheme Chairman, Rupert Tyler (above left) and Tom Stuart-Smith who designed the National Garden Scheme Garden at RHS Chelsea this year.
More about Griffin Glasshouses Support
For each National Garden Scheme collection glasshouse sold, Griffin Glasshouses generously donates 5% to the National Garden Scheme – donating £163,000 since the partnership began in 2013. The National Garden Scheme collection includes eight designs, and each one has attractive proportions and a traditional interior with hidden fixings, reproducing the appearance of a traditional wooden greenhouse.
You can see a Griffin Glasshouse in many of our National Garden Scheme gardens including: Bere Mill, Hampshire. You can also see the Rosemary greenhouse from the National Garden Scheme collection in Serendi, Hertfordshire and Heathside, Surrey (pictured below).
