In 2023 the National Garden Scheme made a donation of £100,000 to Maggie’s gardens and announced its commitment to raise £1 million over 10 years to support people with cancer on top of the £420,000 that the gardening charity has already donated to Maggie’s.
Maggie’s offers free support to anyone with cancer and their families and friends. With 24 centres across the UK, anyone can come in at any time and get the support they need.
We help people take back control when cancer turns life upside down. We know that when you’re diagnosed with cancer you need much more than just medical treatment. You might need information about how treatment will affect you; emotional support and practical advice; a place to go where you can meet and talk to people who are going through the same things.
Built alongside NHS hospitals, our centres are uplifting places with professional staff on hand. Many of our staff are NHS-trained and all our Cancer Support Specialists have expert knowledge about cancer and treatment. Our centres also have psychologists and benefits advisors who can help anyone with cancer and those close to them with stress, anxiety and worries about money, benefits, and employment. We also work with experts who provide exercise groups, yoga, nutrition advice and much more.
We work with some of the best architects and garden designers in the world to design our centres because we know that light, colour, and a connection to nature can help people to feel better.
