About 109 Brook Street
109 Brook Street, a garden of just under an acre, stands at the edge of the attractive village of Wymeswold. Its elevated position at the end of Brook Street provides a beautiful borrowed landscape as you approach the house up a steep drive. The garden was first established in the mid 1960’s and benefits from a number of mature trees. An extensive remodelling has given it many additional features including a rose and clematis patio, a herbaceous border enclosed by yew hedges, a raised bed kitchen garden and an orchard. The formal north side of the garden gives way to sweeping curves on the south side. The wild area includes a naturally stocked pond, with wild flower meadow fringe and woodland walk leading to the main lawn with its well-stocked, circular fishpond and mixed borders with a wide variety of plants. The hot garden on the sheltered south side of the house has exotic plant species in raised beds with a splash water feature to cool the air on a very hot day. Water for the garden comes from an extensive rainwater harvesting system that includes 5000 gallons of storage and a variety of watering systems operated by solar power. Feel free to relax and spend some time with us. Tea and cakes will be served and there will be home raised plants for sale.
